Feeling Alright

Miles walked: 2.6

I'm feeling really good about walking now. It seems like I can go farther and farther. I don't want to push it though. I have been seeing people regularly on my route. I saw two women walking together and one of them was carrying a long stick, like a broom handle. I thought about doing that, but thought people might think I was weird or something. Sometimes I feel like if I had to fend off a dog or something it would be better to have something already in your hand. Maybe I just worry too much, eh?

I finally got a pic of when I was younger to post. This pic was taken on Easter day 1997 or 1998 I think. I was about 200-205 lbs.

Roger,
You are right to not push your self to much.
Four pounds in a week is actualy a little to much. Your body needs time to adjust to the lost weight.
Do you do any "resistance" exersice? Bowflex type stuff?
Anyway, what I am talking about here is how to get your body comfortable with the new weight so that it will be easier to keep it off.
If you body thinks it is starving then you will just pork back up as soon as you stop dieting. If your body has adjusted then it will be a lot easier to keep the weight off.
I went from 320 to 222. But it took me 2 years to do it. That was 4 years ago and I still weight 230 (ish! LOL)

I don't do any resistance exercise. In the past I would try to walk/jog, do push-ups, ab exercises, and eat right. I decided this time to keep it simple and walk and eat right. I'll work some other things in later.
