Day Two

Miles walked: 1.3

It seemed easier to walk today than yesterday (and I went a little farther too). Near the start I grabbed a stick and amused myself by sweeping rocks off the road. It made the walk much more interesting. I guess anything to occupy the mind and keep you from thinking about the monotony of walking is good. I wish I could read while walking. Maybe an audio book, yeah. I'll look into that.

I altered my eating habits as well. Only one diet Coke yesterday. It's amazing how good it tastes when you only have one per day! More water, and no junk food. I met a friend for lunch at Chili's and had a grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad, and water to drink (normally I would have the queso and chips for appetizer and then a burger/fries). This is progress!

Here is a pic of me in Vegas in October of 2004. I was about 245 lb then.

Hi there

I really hope this blog will help you to stay focused and work hard to meet you goal, and maybe be inspiration for others.

I hope you'll get a few tips as well, here are mine: Drink coffe first thing in the morning (helps to burn fat), then take a walk before breakfast, eat regularly like 5 times a day at set times. Don't need big meals just like a banana or someting inbetween regular meals. Dont eat anything after 7 pm and end the day with another walk. Stay away from sugar as much as you can.

If thing gets too hard, allow yourself to have one "eating day" every now and then. Eat what you want, pizza, non-diet coke or whatever. This will help to stay on the track but don't do them too often.

good luck!! I am going to add your site to my favorites and keep checking on you! Steve also inspired me....I joined weight watchers and have lost over 14 pounds so far. Its tough. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! And good tips there Charlie. I have found in the past that if you have pizza or cake once in a while it is not a big deal. It's when you have pizza for breakfast, cake for lunch and Oreos and Doritos for dinner that it's a problem.
